During the weekend we enjoyed an excursion to one of our favourite recent finds, Paper Spoon. Situated in a lovely little community / village of four tastefully rustic shophouses near Wat Umong (a local forest temple that I will post about later), Paper Spoon is a sweet and discrete cafe in which to enjoy some peace and quiet, sip on icy drinks and munch homemade apple pie. The other three shops sell handmade local goodies. Although it’s only a five minute ride from our home on traffic (human and motorised) laden Nimmanhaemin Road, it’s noticeably cooler being situated closer to the mountain (Doi Suthep) and amid greenery rather than concrete. It makes a lovely respite from the heat and big town trappings and our computer screens!

I haven’t seen a cool slide like this in years. Ah, memories of scorching bum slipping down these slides in the heat of the Australian sun as a kid!

Wow! This looks beautiful! It looks so tucked away too, like a secret spot or something.
I’d love to eat/shop there.
It is a bit of a secret spot – I found out about it from my neighbour. I bought some beautiful handmade baby clothes for a friend!
Or the slippery dip being slightly wet, you would do a little push backwards to get more speed up and then whoosh! Straight off the bottom.
Nice looking cafe. It feels cool and peaceful just looking at the pictures.
Oh yes, fun in the rain, wet bum and all!
It looks lovely… a wonderful place to while away some time.
It’s great, I try to get out there every few weeks with Rainbow Eyes – he loves it too.
